Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash watched Ben Williamson drive in the winning run in the 12th inning on Tuesday night, giving the Rays a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers and forcing Game 5 of the World Series at Tropicana Field.

The Rays trailed 3-0 in the series and were down to their final chances. Cooper Pratt hit a tiebreaking home run off Ian Seymour in the top of the 12th, his fourth hit of the game, and Milwaukee moved within one win of its first championship. Milwaukee also carried an eight-game winning streak into the game and was trying to become the second team to sweep a League Championship Series and the World Series.

Tampa Bay answered in the bottom of the 12th. Third baseman Joey Ortiz threw wide on Junior Caminero's leadoff grounder against Antonio Senzatela, and Liam Hicks singled off Shane Drohan, who was making his first appearance since Oct. 15. Jonny DeLuca's single to center brought in pinch-runner Cedric Mullins to tie it at 3. Chandler Simpson's single loaded the bases, and Milwaukee put five men in the infield with the infield in. Williamson, who was 1 for 15 in the postseason, batted for Victor Mesa Jr. and hit a chopper over first baseman Jake Bauers into right field.

That sequence made Tampa Bay the fourth team in World Series history to win with an extra-inning comeback while facing elimination, according to OptaSTATS. The 1912 Red Sox, 1986 Mets and 2011 Cardinals did it before, and each went on to win the title. Tampa Bay also became the fifth of 26 teams to win Game 4 after falling behind 3-0 in a World Series; the previous four lost Game 5.

Pratt, a 22-year-old rookie who debuted in June, drove a slider into the left-field seats against Seymour. He had tied the game at 1 with an RBI double in the second inning. David Hamilton also homered for the Brewers. Jackson Chourio had a single and a double and is batting 10 for 20 in the series.

Caminero left the game after reaching base and was replaced at third base by Mullins. He left the field with an ailing left foot. "He'll play tomorrow on one leg. I'll make sure of it," Cash said. Caminero said he will play Wednesday night.

Game 5 is Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. Jacob Misiorowski is scheduled to start for Milwaukee. Cash said he had not decided on a starter. Tampa Bay returned to its white home jerseys after wearing Devil Rays throwbacks Monday. The announced crowd was 40,514.
